Poems: It's not my place

It's Not My Place

Can't speak, can't be heard,

wouldn't even know the right words.

A plea for help, a silent cry,

but another adult just walked by.

They can't speak, but you just refuse,

Shock you display if it makes the news.

You don't want to hear, it's too awful to bear,

But children still suffer, Is that fair?

You thought something was wrong,

But you didn’t want to accuse.

So kept tight lipped and a child was abused.

'it's not my place to get involved.'

A father's fist swiftly takes ahold

A good person said nothing, evil won.

A coach assaulted someone’s son.

It was only once, the child was acting out,

A daughter quivers at her mother's shouts.

It did look odd but you didn’t want to say.

A child sold for someone’s play.

Am I making my point? Hear my words.

Children around you need to be heard!

1 in 5 are being abused

Are you still feeling confused?
