Poems: Enough

Enough

You ripped away our innocence,

Destroyed our hopes and dreams.

Stole our childhood happiness,

Filled our nightmares with guttural screams.

You tore our world apart,

Leaving us naked and confused.

Souls lost on a darker path,

Our bodies used and abused.

We kept YOUR dirty secrets, as you had clearly said,

And while other children slept peacefully, you crept into our bed.

But secrets are bound to be found and adults children become,

We are coming for YOU now and won’t stop until our job is done

You thought you had us beat, that we would hold our tongues,

But we've got news for you, we've only just begun.

The children of tomorrow, we lend our voices to you,

You will be heard, you will be seen, we will see you through.

Like a Phoenix from the ashes, you will see us rise.

SILENCED NO LONGER, YOU WILL HEAR OUR WARRIOR CRIES!

SHOUT IT LOUD. SHOUT IT CLEAR,

CHILD ABUSE ENDS HERE.

WE'VE BEEN SILENCED FAR TOO LONG.

SURVIVORS STAND TOGETHER STRONG.
